Lent & Holy Week
Central hosts various guest speakers and performers each Wednesday of the Lenten season. Other Lenten services include Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday. Each service adds depth of meaning and feeling to these holiest of days in the Christian year. All prepare us for the holiest day of celebration—Easter.
Lenten Spirituality Center
Spears Fellowship Hall | Open March 18 – April 5 (Easter Sunday)
During the season of Lent, Christians pay special attention to personal spiritual practices that help us reflect and renew as we look toward Easter Sunday. Central’s Lenten Spirituality Center is a place for members and the community to experience some spiritual practices, such as prayer, meditation, labyrinth walking, and responding to scripture through artistic expression, all in a calm and quiet environment. Stations with instructions for the practices are set up and intended to be self-led. The Center is open to all ages, but children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult. The Lenten Spirituality Center is located in the Spears Fellowship Hall, located off the Commons area. Visitors are asked to use the Irby Street entrance.
Groups are welcome with a prior reservation. Please contact Rev. Meg Jiunnies to set up times for groups to attend.
