Join us on Sunday, August 18th for our annual “Blessing of the Backpacks!” Just in time for Back to School, we will pray a special blessing over students and educators, asking God to guide, protect, and nurture them this year. Students of all ages are invited to bring their backpacks with them to church on Sunday for this special event. You are also invited to bring an extra Backpack and supplies such as: marble notebooks (wide rule), 1-inch white binders with the clear plastic front, glue sticks, tissue/Kleenex, tabbed dividers, index cards, colored pencils, or both boys and girls underwear from sizes 6-10 that will be delivered to schools around Florence. If you would like to make a check contribution, please make checks payable to ‘CUMC’ and put ‘School Supplies’ on the memo line.

Blessing of the Backpacks is a wonderful way to acknowledge the beginning of a new school year and recognize the importance of learning. We also want our students to know that God is with them at school and that their church cares and supports them all week long. In addition to our students, we will also take the opportunity to recognize, thank, and pray for all who are involved in the education of our students: teachers, administrators, bus drivers, and all school workers. Be sure to invite a friend, neighbor, classmate or teacher to join you for worship this Sunday, August 18 at The Well at 9:00 a.m. or at the11:15 a.m. worship service at the PAC.
