As a follow-up program to our first workshop, we are inviting Amy Rushing from the SC Department on Aging back to Central to present a program on Wednesday, March 11, at 6:15 pm.

Dementia 201: Positive Interactions

A discussion on best practices for caregivers and loved ones of people living with dementia

Topics include:

- A short overview of dementia—brain changes, types, stages, symptoms

- Effective communication strategies by stage

- Methods to interpret verbal, non-verbal and behavioral cues

- Best practices to prevent or de-escalate challenging situations
