Foster Care: Did You Know?

Florence County has the 7th largest number of children in care of the state with 176. Thirty-nine new foster homes are needed in Florence County in order to place children in their home counties. Nearly half of foster parents will quit after the first year due to a lack of support.

Epworth Children’s Home is still a children’s home. And we are so much more, providing family support programs, family preservation programs, and foster and residential care programs.

Epworth has two programs serving the Pee Dee area with staff housed in Florence. We want to partner with churches in new ways to create networks of support for children and families in local communities.
