Rev. Terry Fleming — Florence District Superintendent
This week’s Midweek Lenten Service guest speaker will be the Reverend Terry Fleming. Rev. Fleming was appointed Superintendent of the Florence District by Bishop Jonathan Holston at Annual Conference, 2018. He comes to the Florence District from the Spartanburg District where he served as pastor of New Beginnings United Methodist Church in Boiling Springs.
Rev. Fleming has served United Methodist Churches in four states in multiple staff and leadership capacities since 1989. His professional experience includes Christian Education, evangelism, program, music, youth, children, and administration. The Flemings moved to Aiken, South Carolina in 2001 where Reverend Fleming served as Program Director and Director of Nurture Ministries with St. John’s UMC. He has previously taught at Perkins School of Youth Ministry and served as trainer with Group Publishing. An active supporter of hands-on mission and ministry, Reverend Fleming has served on Boards of Directors for Area Churches Together Serving (ACTS) in Aiken, Upstate Family Resource Center in Boiling Springs, and the Palmetto Area Council of Boy Scouts of America in Spartanburg. He has served under full-time appointment as clergy since 2008. Married to Carla on November 5, 1988, the Flemings have three adult children and two granddaughters. Reverend Fleming is a graduate of Liberty University and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary.
