Weekly Youth Events

Sunday School

Sunday school classes for youth in grades 7th - 12th take place year around on Sunday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the youth wing located on the second floor over the administrative offices. The classes are designed to help youth study the Bible and talk about their faith in ways that are real and relevant to them. Central has a comprehensive 6-Year Sunday School Learning Plan using LIVE Curriculum. The plan outlines what will be taught each year.

Friends are always welcome! Materials will be provided for all participants. Youth are encouraged to bring their Bibles to class, but are not required. Please come and join a class for fellowship, fun, and discussion. Parents are always welcome too!

Sunday Night United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF)

Sunday Night UMYF is primarily a Sr. High ministry program, but Jr. High Youth are included for monthly special events. UMYF meets most Sunday nights from September through May. A typical UMYF evening will include three components: recreation, worship, and small groups.

One Sunday per month, UMYF will have an outreach event including Underground Church, concerts, and other fun, large-group events geared towards reaching out to students in the community. Other annual special events, such as Trick-or-Treating for Canned Goods and the Paint War, will also take place on the appropriate evenings.

There will be a few special events taking place on Sunday nights this fall. Please visit the Central Youth Ministry website often for up-to-date and accurate information pertaining to these events. As always, parents are welcome to participate and/or observe.

Youth on Wednesday (YOW!)

YOW! will follow the Wednesday Night Dinner schedule. The youth hall opens at 6:00 p.m. for you to hang out, talk, or play any of the games. The program lasts until 6:30 p.m. Most weeks the programs will include prayer, games, Bible study, and discussion. There are always a few Wednesday nights during the fall and spring that YOW! does not meet so the youth and adult volunteers can participate in or attend major congregational events such as the Talent Show or Ash Wednesday service.
