Tyler Cattenhead Selected as Voting Delegate at Global Young Person’s Convocation

Tyler Cattenhead, a member of Central United Methodist Church and son of Rev. J. Derrick and Chasie Cattenhead, has been nominated and selected to serve as a voting delegate at the Global Young Person's Convocation (GYPC) to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa on July 17–22, 2018. He is one of five young people that will represent the South Eastern Jurisdiction (SEJ) of the United Methodist Church, which includes fifteen annual conferences including the South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church (SCUMC).

The Global Young People’s Convocation (GYPC) is a global event for United Methodist Church (UMC) young people from around the world. As a voting delegate, Tyler will have the opportunity to meet, fellowship, worship, address, and have holy conversations with other young people from around the world connected to our global UMC.

Tyler is now raising funds for his trip to the GYPC, and it is with that thought that he is asking for two things. First, Tyler is asking for your prayers for the Convocation, his fellow delegates, his faithful representation, and their safe travels. This is an important piece of the Methodist process, and Tyler needs your prayers to help him serve as a faithful delegate. Secondly, Tyler needs your help raising money for this trip. The total cost is $2700, which does not include the cost of his passport.

Financial Contributions such as checks or money orders can be made out and sent to:
