Organ 101

Our First Wednesday night programming on September 9, 2026 will be Organ 101 with Dr. Don Grice.

After dinner, at 6:15 PM in the Sanctuary, come join Dr. Don Grice for a presentation on Central’s organ.

Enjoy a brief tutorial on the King of Instruments, featuring a behind the scenes look at our organ. You will discover some of the basics about how the instrument works and what the organist does. Hear the different families of sounds including flutes, strings, and reeds and see some of the devices and controls manipulated by the player. The console will be fully visible for the presentation.
