Much More than Ordinary

The liturgical calendar refers to these days as "Ordinary Time." It's supposed to mean "ordered" time, as in numbered, and this Sunday is the 7th Sunday after Pentecost.

Some may hear "uneventful" when they hear "Ordinary Time," but that never seems to be the case at Central.

After an exciting welcoming week with our new pastors, we have an eventful month ahead. You will want to be at Central throughout the summer.

To start this month, we will welcome home our friend, Elise Erikson Barrett. She will sing and speak in The Well service this Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and sing in the sanctuary at 11:15 a.m. In both services, you'll hear at least one offering from her new album.

I'll be preaching in the sanctuary from an eventful passage: 2 Kings 5:1-14. There's a lot going on in that decidedly unordinary story.

Between the services (around 10:20 a.m.), we will have a time to get to know our new pastors. Kathy and Derrick will be in Spears Fellowship Hall responding to questions we've gathered from the children and youth. It will be a fun way to learn more about them.

Join us Sunday for another exciting unordinary day in the life of the church.
