What
Does Central UMC Believe?
"For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus
is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the
dead, you will be saved." (Romans
10:9-11)
The people of Central United Methodist Church believe that God
is present, active, and involved.
We
believe that God is among us, comforting us where we need comfort
and making us uncomfortable where we need discomfort.
- We believe
that God is known most clearly in the person of Jesus Christ
and that Jesus calls us to follow him as disciples.
- We believe
that all who follow Christ are gifted by the Holy Spirit for
ministry of various kinds.
- We believe
that you are created in God’s image and deserve respect
truth, and love, while asserting that all need God’s grace.
- We believe
that is vitally important to practice the Christian faith within
an active community of faith.
"He
died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will
no longer live to please themselves. Instead, they will live to
please Christ, who died and was raised for them." 2
Corinthians 5:15
