Sandy was born in Rock Hill, SC, and lived in Lancaster, SC, until she was eleven years old. At that time her family moved to the Timmonsville area where she attended Roy Hudgens Academy. Not being a country girl, she decided after some college and a Dental Assistant degree from Francis Marion Tech to move to Columbia, SC. After spending time in several cities, she decided to move to Greensboro, NC, where she settled for some 36 years. She was asked to be an Administrative Assistant to the Directors of Youth, Children, Adults and Worship at Christ Community ARP Church. The church had approximately 2,000 members and worked with about 350 children and 75 youth. She was there for a little over 17 years. After her father passed away, she stayed for another 2 years before moving back to the country to be with her mom. She worked as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Disaster Services of the American Red Cross, Pee Dee Region. After learning of a position at Central, she applied and when the position was offered she accepted after much prayer and thought. “I am very glad to be back in a ministry position. It feels like home.” She is now living in the city of Florence and her mom is still in the country.
