Central UMC sponsors several scouting programs for both boys and girls. Scouting builds strong character, citizenship, and values. It also teaches outdoor skills and gives experiences that last a lifetime.
If you have a son in grades 1-5 interested in Cub Scouts or grades 6-12 interested in Boy Scouts, please call the church office (843-662-3218) or one of the leaders.

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country.
On February 8, 1910 the Boy Scouts of America was formally incorporated. On March 30, 1948, Central UMC chartered Boy Scout Troop 475. In 2012, our troop turns 64 years old making it one of the oldest continuously charted troops in Florence County.
The Venturing Oath
As a Venturer, I promise to do my duty to God and help strengthen America, to help others, and to seek truth, fairness, and adventure in our world.

The Girl Scout Promise
On my honor I will try:
to serve God and my country,
to help people at all times,
and to live by the Girl Scout law.
The Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be:
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong,
and responsible for what I say and do,
and to respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place,
and be a sister to every Girl Scout.
Age Levels:
Girl Scout Daisy: 5K-1st grade
Girl Scout Brownie: 2nd-3rd grade
Girl Scout Junior: 4th-5th grade
Girl Scout Cadette: 6th-8th grade
Girl Scout Senior: 9th-10th grade
Girl Scout Ambassador: 11th-12th grade
The Girl Scout program encourages the development of leadership and decision-making skills through specific activities, experiences with self-government and girl/adult partnership, as well as through the influence of adult role models. Service to others is an important element of the Girl Scout program.
Currently, we have a Daisy group and a Brownie group at Central United Methodist Church. There are registration packets in the church office.
