On October 4th, the Church Family Ministries Team sponsored Central's annual Fall Fair out at Camp Sexton. It was a warm, sunny afternoon, and the weather was just right for a picnic. I was by myself. You know how it is; kids have grown and flown and grandchildren live out of state. My husband's schedule is difficult for such events, but I wanted to go and so I did.
I drove into the camp (isn't it pretty in the fall?), parked, and got in line for supper. With my plate of chicken, potato salad, etc. in hand, I found a table and sat down with my church family. We ate, talked, and laughed just like friends do while live keyboard music played in the background.

Around us were the sounds of fun. Children were greeted by Lady Bug, getting their faces painted, or getting customized balloon sculptures from the "Cat-In-The-Hat." Mothers were wiping cotton candy off of sticky fingers so the children could go jump in the "jumping castle" and then on to the hay ride.
I got in line for the cake walk and then later played Bingo. (Watch out for those Bingo players!) So much to do and so many helpers. Next year, I'll help with the picnic because that's what family members do.

This year's volunteers were: Mark Adams, Meg Brunson, Teresa Brunson, Cannon and Miller Brunson, Ken Burdette, Willa Burdette (Hostess), Bobbie Collins, Elvie Eaddy, Tim Fisher, Meg Jiunnies, Phillip Lassen, Patsy McMillan, Tom Moore, Alexis Morris, Jack and Jody Parker, Ralph Porter, Buddy Prosser, Doug Richardson, Dan Rogers, Mary Smith & Dad, Kitty Walters, and Lady Bug (greeter). Thank you all for a great afternoon with friends.
