Rebuilding Togehter/
Christmas in April -
Our youth have participated in this event since the first year it came to Florence. With the help of an adult project manager and volunteers, our youth come together one Saturday in April to hammer, paint, saw, rake, clean, etc., at a house in our community through the Christmas in April Project.

Trick or Treat for Canned Goods - Each year towards the end of October our youth spread out in groups and walk Florence neighborhoods to collect canned and boxed goods for the Manna House and the Lighthouse Ministries.

Super Bowl Sunday - We collect money each January to support the Manna House, and afterwards get together for a Super Bowl Party.

Salkehatchie - Each year the UMYF helps to send interested members to participate in the Salkehatchie Project, a week-long service project in rural areas in which the youth come together from all around the state to work on homes of people in need.

Santahatchie Youth Mission Project

Central UMC will be sponsoring a Santahatchie Project in the Florence area. Between December 26 th and December 30 th teams of youth and adult volunteers will be camping at Central and working on several homes to make them warmer, safer and dryer. These homes belong to people unable to afford these repairs otherwise. The cost to you will be $150 to cover the cost of building materials. All meals and accommodations will be provided at the church. If you are interested in this project, please fill out and return the application form.

The Youth Service Fund is a fund that the youth consider an important ministry. Central has been recognized in past years for their outstanding contribution to this fund. This money goes to fund a variety of mission projects that the Conference Council on Youth Ministries supports.
