May Joint Meeting of UMW

The UMW is holding our joint meeting on Tuesday, May 6th at 6:30 p.m. in the Spears Fellowship Hall. Debbie Turner will be our speaker.

Debbie describes herself, first and foremost, as a servant of Jesus Christ; cleverly disguised as a businesswoman, author and speaker. She has touched thousands of lives with her writing and teaching ministry and her compelling story has been broadcast all over the world on Christian TV and radio programs such as The Harvest Show, Faith Café, It's a New Day and many others. Debbie is the author of two books: Trees Wear Glasses, Don't They? A Call to Faith and Whispered Thunder, Living Within the Sound of God's Voice.

The Erin Glenn circle is hosting this catered dinner. Circle leaders, call Connie Lee with the number of your members attending. Deadline is April 28th.  If you are not a member of a circle and would like to attend, call Connie Lee at 669-8199.

Our Purpose:

  • To know God
  • To experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ
  • To develop creative, supportive fellowship
  • To expand concepts of mission

We emphasize mission and our activities range from service within our own membership to global concerns. At Central, we support our youth, assist with 'Young at Hearts' luncheons and deliver 'Meals on Wheels'. Locally we support groups such as House of Hope and the Pee Dee Coalition. The Wallace Family Life Center and Bethlehem Centers are state UMW missions. The 'undesignated giving' line item in our budget funds global concerns designated by the General Board of Global Ministries.

Circles

Circles meet monthly from September to May. These smaller groups allow for a more intimate setting that encourages fellowship and spiritual reflection. A typical meeting includes UMW business, Bible study, fellowship and plenty of food!
