Getting Involved
• Stephen Ministry
The Stephen Ministry program is a complete system of training and organizing lay persons for caring ministry in and around their congregations. The Stephen Series provides congregations with the structure, training, and resources to set up and administer a complete system for lay caring ministry (called Stephen Ministry) in the congregation.
In Stephen Ministry congregations, lay caregivers (called Stephen Ministers) provide one-to-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge.
The newest Stephen Ministers are: Nelda Alley, Billy Ayres, Juliet Coleman, Wynne English, Marie Evans, Larry Hooks, Meg Jiunnies, and Julie Poston. They join Mary Camp, Beth Ann Owen, Joe Anne Whitaker, Laura Ballenger, Bill Flynn, Rufus Hackney, Jim Harris, Patsy Harris, Ann McCants, Lyles Melton, Dody Phillips, Doug Poston, Ryan Poston, Mary Wells, Tom Whiteley, and Betty Wyman in having been trained to provide one-on-one Christian caregiving. This is a wonderful service to God, Central and our community. For more information please contact Meg Jiunnies at 662-3218 or mjiunnies@centralmethodist.net.
